A big toy store in Clay closed 8 years ago. It’s about to become something completely different

Clay, N.Y. — The former Toys ‘R’ Us store in Clay, a retail landmark until its closing in 2018, will soon come back to life after a major transformation.

Vestal-based Matthews Auto Group bought the former Toys ‘R’ Us store at the Great Northern Mall site in July for $3 million.

Vincent Salvagni, chief operating officer for Matthews, confirmed to syracuse.com | The Post-Standard that the auto group plans to relocate its Clay Nissan dealership to the site…
