ATLANTA (ANF/Gray News) – A Georgia man was arrested after police say he broke into a family’s apartment by punching a hole in the closet wall then assaulted a teenage girl.
Gainesville Police allege 29-year-old Obed Reyes broke into a family’s apartment just before 10 p.m. Wednesday by busting a hole in a closet that connected to another unit.
Investigators say he grabbed a 15-year-old girl in the apartment by her hair and began punching her. After the victim escaped outside, Reyes allegedly threatened to rape her.
“This young lady did everything right. She went to get help. She ran out. She made a commotion. She fought this offender off as best she could, and she was able to hang on long enough for help to get there,” Police Capt. Justin Martin said…
