An estimated 140 detainees in the Northwest ICE Processing Center have been on a hunger strike since Tuesday to protest poor conditions and mistreatment by GEO Group, according to migrant activist group La Resistencia.
La Resistencia and the Japanese-American advocacy group Tsuru for Solidarity protested Saturday for the people held by ICE at the center outside the Tacoma lockup. Around 100 people showed up.
