AUGUSTA, GA (CSRA) — The current heat wave in the CSRA will continue until the end of the upcoming week into next weekend. Heat index will be 105-110 each day through at least Wednesday. A few strong to severe storms are also possible Sunday, but strong high pressure at all levels of the atmosphere will make it difficult for storms to form Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

FIRST ALERT SUNDAY | Heat Advisory in effect from 12pm – 8pm. Most of the day will be partly sunny and hot with highs generally in the middle to upper 90s. Heat index values could approach 110 degrees in the afternoon. Afternoon storms, while isolated, could be strong, so you will want to be prepared if you have outdoor plans, especially if you have plans between 2 and 6 p.m. Week Ahead
FIRST ALERT THROUGH TUESDAY | Temperatures will stay above average throughout the upcoming work week, although the hottest weather will be Monday and Tuesday when temps could eclipse 100 degrees for the first time since 7/27/2025. Factor in the humidity, and heat and heat index values could exceed 110 degrees Monday and Tuesday. A stray storm cannot be completely ruled out in one or two locations nothing to even factor into your outdoor plans. Tuesday looks like a “heat repeat” with intense heat index values around 110 and only an outside chance for a stray afternoon storm.
Wednesday through Saturday
The rest of the week will not be quite as bad as Monday and Tuesday, but we will not begin to feel any noticeable heat relief until next weekend, as a front moves into the region bringing more clouds, milder temperatures and a better chance of storms. Highs will drop from the upper 90s Thursday, to the middle 90s Friday, and into the lower 90s Saturday. Right now, it looks like a 40 percent chance of storms, mainly in the afternoon, next Saturday…
