LEXINGTON, Ky. — As Lexington approaches the anniversary of the Comair Flight 5191 crash, former police chief Anthony Beatty is reflecting on the response to the Aug. 27, 2006, crash at Blue Grass Airport that killed 49 people.
The flight was headed from Lexington to Atlanta when it crashed shortly after takeoff. All 47 passengers and two of the three crew members aboard were killed.
