STORM ALERT WEATHER 3 FORECAST: Sunny Monday, severe threats into Tuesday

STORM ALERT WEATHER 3 FORECAST:

A comfortable start to the work week with temperatures in the mid 50s to low 60s under a clear sky. With dew points around the same marks and light winds throughout SE Minnesota and North Iowa, some patchy fog may form before sunrise. If you run into a fog bank, slow down and use those low beams! Ample sunshine is expected with a high UV index Monday as temperatures peak around the 80° mark. If you have plans to be out at the pool, make sure you are applying and re-applying sunscreen as sunburn can occur in as little as 20 minutes! Similar conditions will be seen at the Iowa State Fair as temperatures reach for the low 80s in Des Moines.

Clouds will increase Monday night ahead of a potential Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) that will roll through the region after midnight. A low-end threat for severe weather exists for an isolated damaging wind gust and quarter size hailstone to the west of our immediate region. This threat may be expanded eastward once better model guidance agreement occurs later Monday…
