Warrant issued for KC woman charged with possession of a controlled substance

CLAY COUNTY, MO — A warrant was issued Monday in Clay County for a Kansas City woman charged with controlled substance possession.

She also faces a misdemeanor charge of possession of a prohibited item at a county jail.

According to a probable cause statement, on Jan. 5, a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a 2002 Lincoln Town Car that they recognized from prior contacts heading north on Interstate 29. A traffic stop was conducted, and the deputy made contact with the passenger, whom they recognized as the owner of the vehicle, Samantha J. Todd. She was then arrested due to two active warrants. During the arrest, a search of Todd’s belongings revealed a small plastic baggie of methamphetamine in her purse.
