Gang member arrested after 98 MPH chase in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A gang member and convicted felon was arrested by police after officers deflated his tires during a chase through Rockford that reached 98 mph in the overnight hours on Sunday morning.

According to court records, a Winnebago County Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a 2010 Dodge Caliber near Euclid Avenue and W. State Street on Sunday, August 16, around 4:10 a.m.

The deputy reported that the vehicle did not stop and the driver accelerated away, reaching 98 mph in a 45 mph zone on Springfield Avenue.
