Police from the 114th Precinct in Astoria are looking for a moped rider who allegedly struck a 68-year-old man on Steinway Street last month and sped away from the scene.
The collision occurred during the early morning hours of Friday, July 24, as the victim was getting off an MTA bus at a stop near 30th Avenue at 1:15 a.m., according to authorities. The moped rider was traveling eastbound on 30th Avenue when he struck the senior and kept going eastbound on 30th Avenue toward 41st Street, police said.
The victim sustained trauma to his head and EMS transported him to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital in Astoria, where he was listed in stable condition.
