State Farm paying $5B back to qualifying auto customers

(WJW) — State Farm Mutual customers will want to keep an eye on their inbox and mailbox.

The insurance company said qualifying auto customers can expect to receive a payment as part of its one-time $5 billion cash-back dividend, the largest in the company’s 100-plus-year history, according to a media release.

According to State Farms’ website, the dividend payments are credited to the company’s “stronger than expected underwriting performance in 2025.” As a mutual company, State Farm Mutual said it is positioned to provide value back to customers, rather than shareholders.

The payment process started at the end of July, and officials said because the distribution covers more than 49 million auto vehicles, the process is expected to take several months…
