HAMPTON, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — An Atlanta Police Department K9 who slipped away from his handler overnight in Henry County has been found safe.
Stano got away late Monday night as his handler was arriving home from a late-night shift, according to police. His handler lives in Henry County, about 45 minutes south of Atlanta.
Officers centered their overnight search around North Pomona and Boynton roads, using a helicopter and searching on the ground. Police think the 3-year-old Malinois spotted deer and ran after them.
