(Des Moines) Atlantic senior Hayden Kleen went out in style Thursday at the Iowa State Fair, exhibiting the Grand Champion FFA Maine Angus Breeding Heifer. Kleen arrived Wednesday with his breeding heifer, showed her Thursday, and took home the big prize. Kleen says they were not expecting to do too much, and it was fun to come out with something out of the deal.
Hayden named his breeding heifer “Tulsa” after the song “Tulsa Time.”
Hayden’s success at the state comes on the heels of a very successful Cass County Fair this past summer, where he exhibited the Reserve Grand Champion FFA market steer, and Reserve Breeding Heifer Overall. Kleen credits his success to the support he received from family and friends…
