HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. — Hamilton County has issued an emergency declaration that prohibits all recreational travel on the White River due to dangerous conditions.
The order states that residents may not kayak, canoe, swim, tube, wade or otherwise enter the river until further notice.
“We’ve seen people doing a lot of stupid things on the flood waters,” said Commissioner Christine Altman. “Swimming, jet-skiing, you name it. People need to understand this is a life-or-death situation we’re currently in.”…
