A recent audit of the City of Carencro found that the city improperly loaned money to Carencro C’est Bon Seasoning Fest Inc., raising questions about compliance with the Louisiana Constitution.
For three consecutive years the city has been found to have improperly loaned or donated funds to alocal non-profit entities, according to the state audit. In 2023, the city loaned $3,000 to the festival to assist with its incorporation. However, according to an audit conducted in 2024, no ordinance had been passed justifying the loan.
