EMS treat four women after partial ceiling collapse at local Chinese restaurant in Kaimuki

HONOLULU (Island News) – Units from the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) and Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were dispatched to a Kaimuki Chinese restaurant following reports of an apparent roof collapse.

The incident was reported by HFD at approximately 1 p.m. at the Happy Days Chinese Seafood Restaurant located at the Waialae Plaza. HFD officials initially classified the incident type as a “confined rescue incident.” Confirmed units were made by 1:32 p.m.

Footage from the scene showed HFD rescue personnel inside the building responding to an apparent ceiling collapse. Additional footage also showed paramedics using multiple evacuation chairs before heading into the restaurant. EMS later confirmed that the interior of the restaurant had partially collapsed…
