One of Miami’s most popular bakery and café concepts is making its Broward County debut this fall.
The Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority (DDA) announced that Ophelia, the Coconut Grove bakery founded by husband-and-wife chefs Ana De Sa Martins and Juan Vieira, will open a new café at Huizenga Park, located at 32 E. Las Olas Boulevard. The café will bring its scratch-made pastries, artisan breads and specialty coffee to the New River waterfront in downtown Fort Lauderdale some time this fall.
The opening marks Ophelia’s first location in Broward County and another milestone for Huizenga Park, which reopened in January following a $15 million renovation. Since then, the park has welcomed more than 100,000 visitors and has become a hub for community events, dining and outdoor recreation…
