ROCK VALLEY—One person was injured in a pickup-semi collision about 9:25 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, on Elmwood Avenue about two miles north of Rock Valley.
Fifty-eight-year-old Dustin John Schouten of Sioux Falls, SD, was driving south when his 2023 Ram 2500 Limited pickup crossed the centerline at the crest of a hill and struck a 2024 Peterbilt semitruck and dry bulk tanker being driven by 46-year-old Jesse Ray Van Diepen of Boyden nearly head on, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Schouten was transported by Avera Careflight to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, with serious injuries…
