FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman announced that his office is fighting to uphold a 30-year prison sentence for a convicted human trafficker appealing his case to the Kentucky Supreme Court.
In 2025, a Jefferson County jury convicted Moises May, age 39, on five counts of Human Trafficking (Class B Felony), Kidnapping (Class B Felony), Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process (Class D Felony), as well as misdemeanor charges of Harassment with Physical Contact and Third-Degree Terroristic Threatening.
Court records detail that May chained a female victim to the floor by her neck and left her trapped inside a locked residence. The woman was rescued after a neighbor heard her cries for help and contacted the Louisville Metro Police Department. Evidence presented at trial showed May had previously used the victim’s phone to impersonate her and arrange paid commercial sex encounters with other men, secretly filming encounters through a hole in the ceiling while using threats of physical violence to maintain control…
