BRFD arrests man on arson charges after he allegedly lit pile of clothes on fire at Fairchild Street house

BATON ROUGE — A man was arrested after allegedly setting fire to clothes under a vacant home’s carport.

According to Baton Rouge Fire officials, 46-year-old Lorenza McCutcheon set fire to a pile of clothes under the carport of a home along Fairchild Street on Tuesday. Investigators say that McCutcheon then went inside the home and threw more items into the fire.
