In Brown County, affordable childcare is hard enough to find that employers may face worker shortages, a new local survey found. And with state-level childcare subsidies having ended this July, these shortages could get worse.
This spring, the Wisconsin Early Childhood Association partnered with Achieve Brown County and Brown County United Way to better understand the state of childcare in the region. Specifically, they wanted to help employers understand how access to childcare affects the workforce, said MaKayla Neinas, communications and engagement manager for Achieve Brown County.
