WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A fire at a Southwest D.C. rowhouse left two families displaced Wednesday morning, officials said.
In a post on the social platform X just before 9:45 a.m., the DC Fire and EMS Department said crews responded to a fire at a two-story rowhome in the 200 block of P Street SW.

There, firefighters found flames coming from the basement. Crews quickly extinguished the blaze and were working to put out hotspots as of Wednesday morning.
Officials said seven people from two units, along with two cats and one dog, were displaced as a result.
The Red Cross is assisting the displaced families. The cause of the fire remains under investigation…
