After some much-needed rain over the past few weeks, officials in Jefferson County have eased fire restrictions in unincorporated areas of the county.
Jefferson County had previously been in Stage 2 restrictions since early July. As of Tuesday, the county has dropped down to Stage 1 restrictions. While restrictions have been eased, the sheriff’s office said drought conditions, including dry vegetation and soil, remain a concern in the county and create a risk of wildfire growth.
