Civil Rights Groups Say Beaumont Unified Illegally Spent High-Need Student Funds on School Police

BEAUMONT, Calif. — Two civil rights organizations are urging Riverside County education officials to reject Beaumont Unified School District’s 2026-27 budget plan, alleging the district illegally used $577,927 reserved for its highest-need students to pay for school police.

The allegation comes in a press release from Public Advocates and the ACLU Foundation of Southern California.
