LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – The Fayette County Board of Education voted unanimously on Monday, Aug. 17, to accept Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins’ retirement, ending a five-year tenure marked by budget shortfalls, lawsuits and multiple investigations.
Liggins was leaving his contract three years early without a settlement.
