COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) will host a public auction for three parcels of surplus property located in Albany and Rensselaer Counties. The auction will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 18.
The surplus properties are state-owned land that was originally acquired for highway enhancements, but DOT said the land is no longer required for transportation purposes.

The parcels scheduled for public auction include:
- Town of East Greenbush (Rensselaer County): An approximately 12,441 square-foot parcel adjacent to the north end of 271 Columbia Turnpike (U.S. Route 9 & 20). Bidding will commence at $26,000.
- Town of East Greenbush (Rensselaer County): An approximately 5.3-acre parcel located near the eastbound Interstate 90 Exit 8 ramp, situated between Partition Street Extension and Woodlawn Avenue. Bidding will commence at $49,800.
- City of Cohoes (Albany County): An approximately 3,010 square-foot parcel located at the eastern terminus of South Street, adjacent to State Route 787. Bidding will commence at $8,700.
All properties are sold “as-is.” Potential bidders are encouraged to research local municipal zoning requirements and land-use regulations before submitting bids.
