Man to be sentenced Friday in fatal DWI crash in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) — A Rotterdam man who caused deadly drunk driving crash in Albany last year set to be sentenced on Friday..

Matthew Merriman pleaded guilty on June 17 to aggravated vehicular homicide. Investigators said Merriman drove with a blood alcohol level higher than 0.18% and caused a crash on Sept. 30, 2025 on Everett Road that killed 34-year-old Matthew Mardon.

Merriman’s plea deal includes a possible sentence of 6 2/3 to 20 years in prison…
