Wendy’s executive Denny Lynch never called the boss by his first name.
“I didn’t call him Dave,” says Lynch, whose 34-year career with the Columbus-born burger chain included more than two decades traveling with its founder as Dave Thomas rode a wave of fame as the star of his company’s TV commercials. “I called him Mr. T. To me it was a sign of respect. It was also a reminder. Although I wanted him to be my best buddy, he was also my boss. I never wanted to say something to him that crossed that line.”…
