What is the Golden Pacific Ppowerlink?
San Diego Gas & Electric wants to build a massive new power line across Southern California called the Golden Pacific Powerlink. This 500-kilovolt transmission line would stretch about 150 miles across the region.
It would start at an existing substation in the Imperial Valley and end near the San Diego-Orange County border. The line would carry huge amounts of electricity through towering steel structures.
