MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – A Montgomery police officer has been involved in a shooting while trying to arrest suspects.
Police say just before 10:30 this morning, officers were trying to stop a vehicle with three people inside who were of interest in an assault investigation. A pursuit ended near the intersection of Birmingham Highway and West Boulevard, where police say the three people ran away.
Police say during a foot chase, one suspect pulled out a gun. That’s when an officer fired at the suspect in self-defense. Police say the suspect had a life-threatening injury and was taken to a hospital for emergency treatment…
