Three men were shot around noon Wednesday in a parking lot in the 4000 block of West Hirsch Street in Humboldt Park, leaving a 25-year-old man in critical condition and a 22-year-old man also listed as critical. Police said a 33-year-old man was reported in good condition. No one has been taken into custody.

The 25-year-old, shot in his right armpit, was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, while the 33-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to his right hand.
The 22-year-old and the 33-year-old transported themselves to what police described as Norwegian Hospital, per the same report. That facility, at 1044 N. Francisco Ave., has operated as Humboldt Park Health since a rebranding in January 2021 meant to emphasize its health equity mission, according to WMAQ-TV. The 200-bed nonprofit hospital functions as an independent safety-net facility on the West Side, which is why longtime residents and even some official accounts still use its former name.

That teen was initially taken to Humboldt Park Health before being transferred to Stroger Hospital, mirroring the transport pattern seen in Wednesday’s shooting…
