Law enforcement training to return to BRCC after pause in 2024 over safety concerns

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Blue Ridge Community College is bringing back its Basic Law Enforcement Training Program after it was paused in 2024 due to safety concerns.

In 2024, following personnel and safety concerns detailed in a News 13 investigation, the state suspended the program. Now, after rebuilding its staff and oversight procedures, BRCC has regained state accreditation, per an Aug. 20 news release.
