WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – A fast-moving blaze swept through a building at the Cobalt Apartments off Wesley Chapel Boulevard on Thursday afternoon, completely destroying the structure and displacing approximately 400 people, according to Pasco County officials.
Pasco Fire Rescue Chief Ryan Guynn said the initial emergency call came in shortly after 3 p.m. While no injuries to residents have been reported, officials declared the four-story building a total loss. Fire crews safely evacuated the building alongside neighboring structures, successfully preventing the flames from spreading beyond the single building.
