DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – There will be a new Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) commander at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base soon.
According to the AFLCMC’s Public Affairs Specialist, Lt. Gen. Jason D. Voorheis will assume command during a Thursday, Aug. 27 ceremony at 11 a.m. at the National Museum of the United States Air Force.
In his new role Voorheis will lead an organization which manages the U.S. Air Force weapon systems. The AFLCMC oversees a budget of over $400 billion and over 30,000 Airmen / civilian and contractor employees.

“This includes acquiring, developing, testing, modernizing and sustaining a wide range of capabilities such as aircraft, engines, munitions, electronic systems and information technology,” wrote AFLCMC.
Previously, Voorheis served at the Pentagon in the Department of the Air Force Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Command, Control, Communications and Battle Management (DAF PAE C3BM).
