Bloomington-area law enforcement agencies will increase patrols and conduct sobriety checkpoints through early September as part of the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.
The effort is being coordinated by the Monroe County Traffic Safety Partnership, according to a community announcement. Supported by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the campaign will run through Sept. 7 and includes overtime enforcement funded through the Comprehensive Highway Injury Reduction Program, known as CHIRP.
