MEMPHIS, Tenn.– A Memphis man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a $27,000 Rolex during a meetup with someone trying to sell the watch at a taco shop in East Memphis.
Police said the seller traveled all the way from Virginia and met with the buyer, later identified as Devonte Gullage, on August 11 to complete the transaction.
The victim said he allowed Gullage to try on the Rolex and gave him the paperwork. He said Gullage told him he was going to walk to the bank next door to withdraw $27,000 for the Rolex.
Instead, he said Gullage jumped into the back seat of a vehicle and fled the scene…
