It’s no secret that the Wisconsin Badgers football team has struggled in the Luke Fickell era, something that even the biggest of Badger truthers can recognize. Since the hire, Wisconsin has posted a record of just 17 wins to 21 losses — a far cry from what the standard in Madison once was.
Because of this, many factors have begun to fall, as Wisconsin has likely lost out on some recruits, hasn’t been able to retain talent and, on the flip side, hasn’t been able to develop talent or turn it into wins. All in all, it’s been disastrous, something fans aren’t oblivious to.
This was reflected in the Badgers’ season ticket totals announcement, as Wisconsin sold just 47,587 season tickets, a 13.1% drop from even last season, when the Badgers sold 54,780. Ticket sales, of course, tend to fluctuate based on the prior season’s performance, something any college has to be wary of. However, a drop like the one Wisconsin just saw is a bit ridiculous in comparison to where it typically is following a losing season…
