Hundreds of Lime riders are expected to pack downtown Seattle streets Saturday, following similar events this month in Minneapolis and Omaha. Most riders are having some good summertime fun, but there are safety concerns since many are young people, and most won’t be wearing helmets.
The hordes of green and white e-scooters are upon us. Twice this summer in downtown Seattle, hundreds of people gathered for huge group rides on rental Lime scooters, bikes, and gliders.
The group (bushel?) of Limes take to the streets like a flashmob caravan, zooming around, often weaving in and out of traffic, bike lanes, and sidewalks. Laughing, filming themselves for TikTok, with the wind blowing through their hair because they’re not wearing anything on their heads, least of all helmets…
