SF Dems Set to Break With State Party, Oppose Billionaire Tax

The San Francisco Democratic Party is expected to vote next week to oppose California’s proposed billionaire tax, breaking with the state party in a city that is home to some of the wealthiest people the measure would target, Politico reported.

The vote by the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee would put the local party organization at odds with the California Democratic Party, which narrowly endorsed Proposition 40 this month after a contested floor fight decided by a handful of delegates.
