ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Belvidere gang member Cody Heinzman, 21, pleaded guilty to weapons charges and was sentenced to 6 months in jail on Friday.
Heinzman was arrested on July 18 during a traffic stop at Charles and 29th Streets. Officers with the Rockford Police Department’s Specialized Community Oriented Police Enforcement (SCOPE) team found a loaded handgun and ammunition during the investigation.
He was charged with several weapons-related offenses, including possession of a firearm with no valid Firearm Owners Identification and possession of ammunition without a valid Firearm Owners Identification, but pleaded guilty to a single charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a gang member…
