RUSSELL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) – A man was found dead near Lake Cumberland Marina Sunday morning after going missing Saturday night, according to Russell County Coroner Mark Coots.
Coots says 42-year-old Andy Schmidt of Lexington was camping with his friends in the area of Wolf Creek. Schmidt went swimming Saturday night and did not resurface. A search began but was called off late into the night.
The coroner says the search resumed Sunday morning and Schmidt was found around 9:50 a.m. He was pronounced dead around 10 a.m. from an apparent drowning…
