3 Houston postal carriers among 5 indicted in $23 million check theft scheme

Three Houston U.S. Postal Service carriers are accused of helping to steal $23 million worth of checks from the mail they were supposed to deliver.

In total, five people were charged as part of the conspiracy, according to an indictment handed up in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas on Aug. 19.
