Due to the Hawk Fire, all Washoe County School District (WCSD) schools—with the exception of Gerlach K-12 School—will be canceled Monday, August 24, school district officials announced.
This closure also includes St. Albert the Great Catholic Community, Mater Academy of Northern Nevada, St. Johns Children’s Center, Truckee Meadows Community College, Coral Academy of Science Reno, Bishop Manogue Catholic High School and Pinecrest Academy of Northern Nevada.
University of Nevada, Reno will continue regular campus operations on Monday following an assessment of the Hawk Fire and current smoke conditions in the area.
