For 38 years, visitors to the Siena University athletic department were greeted by the smiling face of secretary Sybille Cowan.
Cowan, who died July 20 at 82 years old, was “probably Siena’s No. 1 ambassador” from behind her front desk, according to retired Siena administrator and coach Joyce Eggleston.
“She was the first person you saw when you walked into the department,” Eggleston said. “She just made everyone feel comfortable when they first entered the offices. She was very, very helpful, always accommodating, whether it was the president of the college, staff members, students, visitors, coaches.”…
