BUCKTOWN — The Cortland Street Bridge rehabilitation project could take multiple years to complete after the city’s transportation department identified more severe infrastructure problems.
The 124-year-old bridge, which holds landmark status and serves as a major crossing between Bucktown and Lincoln Park, closed to car traffic last September for a city restoration project to address its aging infrastructure, with an initial plan of completion by 2027.
