An adult male trapped against the Lighthouse Beach breakwall was rescued by Evanston first responders just after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23.
Evanston Fire Department water rescue members first reached the victim from the shore and were able to stabilize the situation until Marine 21 and Evanston Fire Rescue Water Crafts arrived.
The victim and rescuers were brought aboard Marine 21 by Evanston Fire and Police rescuers and taken to the Church Street Boat Ramp for medical evaluation. The victim refused ambulance transportation to an emergency room.
