ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — An inmate awaiting trial for murder now faces additional charges of attempted murder after attacking a correctional officer in the Winnebago County Jail over the weekend.
According to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, George Elie, 33, was being ordered to lockdown after refusing to cooperate with a correctional officer.
