When Blaze Pizza in Wichita’s Greenwich Place development closed in May, a social media post by the restaurant said that it would reopen in the nearby Regency Lakes development, 21st and Greenwich, over the summer.
Now, summer is coming to an end, and there’s no sign of Blaze Pizza in Regency Lakes — or anywhere else for that matter. Recently, readers have been asking if the restaurant really will reopen in Wichita.
Late last week, I was able to track down Paul McCrae, the Omaha-based owner of Wichita’s Blaze Pizza franchise, and he said that Blaze still plans to reopen in Wichita.
The Regency Lakes plan is still a possibility but is taking a while because the restaurant needs to be able to put a walk-in cooler outside the space it chooses. The approval process for that request is taking time…
