PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A Southeast Portland restaurant is cleaning up damage to its street seating after they said a truck hit it over the weekend.
The owners of Mirisata, a plant-based Sri Lankan restaurant located on SE Belmont Street, said in a social media post that a Ford F-150 had hit the streetside seating structure Saturday night.

“We have plenty of other seating and we don’t plan to leave it looking like this for long,” the post said. “The timing is unfortunate though. Holiday weekends like Labor Day are some of the couple dozen days each year where the extra seating is useful.”
The restaurant owners said they had insurance that should cover the damage. They also said they had evidence to turn over to police.
“We have insurance that should cover this with a $1,000 deductible,” they said in their social media post. “A neighbor left a note that they have video of the truck driving away (plus the truck left behind parts with barcodes that confirm the make/model), so maybe even the driver’s insurance will end up covering it.”…
