TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — After 20 years, a local sweet treat staple has announced it will close its retail stores. The Cookie Factory shared the news in a social media post on Monday evening.

The bakery, which has a storefront in Clifton Park and Troy, was started by Chris and Joe Alberino in 2006. Coming from a generation of bakers, their dream blossomed into something they never imagined.
“What began as a bakery grew into something much bigger than we ever expected and, along the way, we had the incredible privilege of becoming part of the lives of so many people,” Chris and Joe said in The Cookie Factory post.
The business said its team has baked millions of cookies, pastries, cakes, breads and more over the years. The Cookie Factory’s products were also shipped across the country and made it on the shelves of supermarkets across 25 states.

But the family-owned business said when reflecting back, the numbers aren’t what they remember most. Instead, it’s the people who continuously showed up…
