School bus burning, evacuation exercises at first-of-its-kind West Michigan training

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — No parent wants to picture the image of an overturned, flaming school bus. But even worse is that scenario without a bus driver who knows how to respond to such an emergency.

The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) hosted a first-of-its-kind emergency training last week for about 70 bus drivers from various school districts across West Michigan, teaching them how to respond in scenarios from everyday bus chaos to the worst case scenario.
